Comments on: iphone 3g display problems – screen blank – faulty?

Ok I had the same problem. and I was really freaking out since I spent 450 on my iphone, the holding down sleep button didnt work for me. and anyway why should you have to do that everytime after you make a call? What worked for me was taking the phone out of its cover to make a call. and it worked perfect. went black for a few minutes then I took it away from my ear it was back to normal. and i could text while i made calls. anyway I’m happy! and I hope this fixes some of your problems to. It seems the cover covered up the senser were the ear piece is thats why it didnt work.

Or is it an issue with refreshing the graphics?

Thanx man! When checking email my screen stayed black. After the reset all is working fine again.

A crisis averted! My iphone went dead and would not turn on or charge i.e no apple logo when plugged in. I found this site with first google search, pressed the wake/sleep and home button for 10 seconds and bam! I am back in business. Thank you.
