Established over 15 years ago, my client is a market leader is their industry sector and due to expansion, have recently located to brand new ‘state of the art’ offices in West London. Currently they are seeking a Head of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to lead the in-house SEO team, currently consisting of 7 members. As an organisation ‘work hard, play hard’ is definitely the sentiment and they have regular social events/company incentives, usually voted for by staff members. With ambitious growth plans for the search department in 2010, strong financial backing and a solid business plan in place, my client offers a long-term career prospect for the successful applicant.

Job Description:

Leading a team of 7 SEO executives, the Head of SEO will be required to assess and monitor the website’s functionality, accessibility and search marketing conversion rates. You will be required to conduct competitor analysis and keyword research, advising of best practice and developing SEO strategy both on and off page. You will guide and mentor the SEO team, being heavily involved in the development and task assignment for each individual. Due the ambitious growth plans for the search department in 2010 you will be heavily involved in the recruitment process, from identifying business needs to interviewing potential applicants. As the team is still quite small and growing, you will be very ‘hands on’ with regards to the implementation of SEO strategy, both on and off page alongside the SEO executives.

Skills / Experience:

Due to the demanding nature of the role the successful applicant will;

*Have several years Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) ‘commercial’ experience either within a client or agency environment.
*Be ‘hands on’ in their approach and have the ability to physically implement SEO strategy both on and off page.
*Be strategic and forward thinking – my client is looking for a leader within Search Marketing (not a follower).
*Have experience managing and developing teams.
*Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Have a genuine PASSION for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Online in general.
